Checking Application Status

When you are checking on the status of your application, please be aware that receiving and loading the school forms submitted through the Common Application system into our system is a two step process. First, your school submits your forms to the Common Application. When you log into your account with Common App and see confirmation that your school forms have been submitted, this means that the Common Application has received these forms. This does not indicate or confirm that your forms have been downloaded yet into the LMU system.

Once the Common App has your forms, we will import them into the LMU system. During peak volume periods, such as right around November 1, this can take up to a week. We must load the forms into our system, and then “index” them, which means match them up with your individual application. Only when your forms have been loaded, indexed and matched will we be able to confirm that your documents have been received and whether your application is complete.

All applicants will receive an email when the application is complete.

Financial Aid Deadlines

The deadline for submitting 2010-2011 FAFSA and 2010-2011 CSS Profile is February 1, 2010 .
Please visit www.lmu.edu/financialaid for more details.

Application Information

Loyola Marymount University welcomes applications from qualified students. The university
selects and administers all of its programs without discrimination as to race, color, sex,
creed, national origin, or non-disqualifying handicap. Beyond meeting fully our obligations of
nondiscrimination under federal and state law, Loyola Marymount University is committed in
mission and philosophy by our Jesuit and Marymount traditions to establish a community of
tolerance and respect that welcomes and embraces people of all backgrounds, without
regard to differences in economic status, ethnic background, political views, religious beliefs,
or other personal characteristics.

Acceptance

Applications for admission are reviewed on a rolling basis. This means that your application
will be evaluated as soon as all required documents have been received. Written notification
of your eligibility for admission will be sent as soon as a decision has been reached and
normally no later than April 1 for fall freshmen who apply by January 15. Admitted students
are required to submit final transcripts to verify that all work in progress is successfully
completed.  In the event that the final semester of work does not meet required criteria,
acceptance may be rescinded.

Living on Campus

LMU encourages first-time freshmen to live in university housing because it enriches their
educational experience. However, students are not required to live on campus at any time
during their LMU career. For fall enrollment, university housing is guaranteed to first-time
freshmen, provided their commitment deposits are postmarked by May 1. Housing requests
from fall transfer students and from all spring applicants are processed on a first-come,
first-served, space-available basis.
