Update on Application Processing
LMU is in the final stages of testing and implementing the processes by which we import and load Common Application information and documents into our data system. The data we load consists of the answers you have provided to the questions on the Common App, including name, address, school and/or college attended, the major to which you are applying, etc. The documents we load include all your essay responses, your high school transcript, your recommendations, etc. Currently we have imported most data for students applying for January, 2014 admission. We hope to have the documents for the spring applications plus all info (data and documents) for the fall applicants imported into our system by Monday, November 4th.
Until we have data in the system, we cannot, unfortunately, acknowledge receipt of your application, although we can see from info the Common Application organization provides us whether you have submitted your application. (You, of course, can see this same information when you access your account.) When we have both data and documents successfully loaded into our system, we will be able to tell you if your application is complete, or if any required documents or information have not yet reached us.
Once we have successfully loaded all application data and documents, an automatic sequence of email messages to each applicant will begin. The first acknowledges that we have received your application. If we have everything required to begin evaluating your application, an email indicating that your application is complete will follow. Next, you will receive instructions for logging into MyPAW, our Admission self service portal, where you will be able to track the status and progress of your application. Finally, after a brief period to allow information submitted separately from your own application to reach us, including test scores, your transcript and recommendations, students whose files are not complete will receive notice of what is missing and will have time to submit these to us without penalty.
We will also begin reading and evaluating applications as soon as we have successfully imported both data and documents. We will begin sending decision letters in November to applicants for January and to Early Action applicants for fall. Our goal is to complete our evaluations and communicate admission decisions on or before December 20th.
We appreciate your patience in this unusual application cycle, and we certainly appreciate your interest in Loyola Marymount University.
