Studio Arts Portfolio (Optional)
College of Communication and Fine Arts – Studio Arts Department
Undergraduate Admission Portfolio Requirements
Please remember, submission of a portfolio is optional and is not required -- academic record and an inherent understanding of and passion for studio work still stand as the primary factors in our admission decisions.
If you choose to submit a portfolio, you will be able to do so after you have submitted your application. Once your application has been submitted, you will receive an email explaining how to check your status, and on the Application Status Page will be an upload feature where you may upload your optional portfolio and/or creative work. (Please note that you cannot upload anything until you have applied for admission.)
Students applying for admission into the Studio Arts major may submit a portfolio of up to 10 samples of art and design work that may include: Ceramics, digital art, drawings, graphic design, illustrations, paintings, photography, sculpture, videos, as well as audio and other visual materials.
Traced pictures or copied images of other people’s work is not acceptable.
The priority deadline for submission of a First Year applicant portfolio is January 15.
The priority deadline for submission of a Transfer applicant portfolio is March 15.
LMU currently accepts Images, Videos, Audio, and .PDF documents. If you have a text document to submit, please convert the document to a .PDF format before submitting.
Provide 1-10 items. Images (up to 5MB each), Video (up to 250MB each) and PDFs (up to 10MB each).
To submit artwork, photographs or a writing sample, upload a PDF or JPEG containing your work. For video, create an account on Vimeo or YouTube and upload the link to your film as one of your submissions. We discourage setting any password protection for project submissions. This may cause a delay in the review of the applicant’s application. All submissions must be made through the student's Application Status Page after applying for admission.
