Nexus Program
Nexus, meaning “connection” or “link,” is a conditional program. It connects a select group of first-year students, that have demonstrated potential, to LMU resources and opportunity. This program requires all participating students to attend LMU full-time. All successful course work in this program counts toward an LMU degree.
Nexus students must meet the following requirements in order to become degree-seeking students in their next semester:
- Take a time management class called "Learning about Learning"
- Maintain good standing with the University and enroll in a minimum of 12 units
- Achieve a 2.5 GPA
- Business students must enroll and complete a math class with a B
- Must meet with the Nexus Advisor while still in Nexus
Students in the program will be able to participate in all activities and programs on campus, with the exception of NCAA/intercollegiate sports. They will be invited to participate in the New Student Orientation, and the traditional transition activities associated with the beginning of the academic year. Nexus students are eligible to live in LMU Student Housing, provided they submit the Tuition Deposit by the required deadline and follow all procedures and deadlines for living on campus.
Nexus participants are not eligible for merit or need based aid and are expected to pay full-time undergraduate tuition. Once they have met the Nexus requirements, they become eligible for state or federal need-based aid, as well as scholarships earmarked for Continuing Students.
Students with any questions about Nexus should visit the program’s Frequently Asked Questions page, and may contact Radia Alouache, Senior Director of Undergraduate Admission, at Radia.Alouache@lmu.edu.
